Lala Peñaranda

Lala Peñaranda is the Latin America Coordinator for Trade Unions for Energy Democracy (TUED) and is currently based between New York City and Bogotá, Colombia. She studied Urban Studies at the CUNY School for Labor and Urban Studies and is completing an MA in Law and Economics of Climate Change in FLACSO Argentina. Prior to TUED, she worked as a tenant organizer at Met Council on Housing, an editor at NACLA, and an intern researcher at the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ). Her interpretation and translation services with TUED and the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung New York Office have focused primarily on environmental issues, housing justice, the energy sector, and the Latin American labour movement.
