Mathis is a progressive organizer and writer based in Canada. Raised across five continents, he brings a rare lens to the urgent fights of our time: defending democracy, protecting the environment, and confronting the rise of right-wing extremism. He has held staff positions at all levels of government in Canada and Germany, including roles in German federal and state parliaments. As Communications Officer for the Institute for Change Leaders, he supported community organizer training across Canada. He currently serves as Provincial and Federal Youth Representative for the University–Rosedale NDP and represents Canadian youth at the International Union of Socialist Youth.
